All Ages, DIY Venue Hoosier Dome Closing After 16 Years

Beloved Indianapolis all-ages DIY music venue Hoosier Dome announced today that it will close after 16 years. According to the venue, the building has been sold, and the new owners will not be renewing its lease. Hoosier Dome shared the news in a statement posted to its Facebook page.

For more than a decade, Hoosier Dome has been an important part of Indianapolis’ independent music community, providing a space for emerging artists and fans of all ages. We encourage everyone to reach out, show some love and thank the Hoosier Dome team for their years of hard work, dedication and contributions to our local music scene.

The venue’s final show is scheduled for Dec. 13, 2026.

From Hoosier Dome’s Facebook Page:

It’s with an incredibly heavy heart that we have to announce that Hoosier Dome will be coming to an end soon.

Hoosier Dome was established in this building in 2010 and has grown into one of the longest running all ages venues in Indiana.

Throughout that entire time, we've been renting this building from the company that owned it for years before we turned it into the venue you know and love. The property was recently sold to a new company, and unfortunately, they want us out of the building. We have this space until the end of the year, after which they will be renovating the building and turning it into something else.

As difficult as this is to accept, it means that the venue is closing.

This has, of course, hit us very hard. We know many people will feel the same way. We're sincerely so sorry to leave a hole in our music scene and to leave the community like this. If there was something that could be done to change this circumstance, trust us, we have already tried it.

Throughout the time we've been here, this place has continued to grow every single year. We've hosted bands from Australia to Sweden and everywhere in between; Grammy winners and nominees; countless release shows and farewell tours. 2026 has been on track to be the most shows that we've ever done.

But sadly, it is our turn to say farewell.

We certainly aren't closing from a lack of love. We have continuously felt that love and support from our community for so long, and it is the only reason this venue has lasted as long as it has.

Hoosier Dome has been so much more than just a venue.

To many, it was our second home.

It's been a place to have unique and intimate experiences with your favorite bands,

a place to feel the unity of singing along with a crowd of people,

a place to freely express yourself,

a place to connect with likeminded individuals,

a place kids can go to their first concert,

a place bands played their first show,

a place artists used to grow into something much bigger,

a place many people fell in love,

a place we sometimes used to grieve our loved ones,

a place to celebrate,

a place to discover your favorite band,

a place to make lifelong friends,

a place to feel like you belong,

a place to call home.

There is no way to have the right words to say in this situation. We know this news is going to hurt.

It hurts us, too.

But before we close these doors, we want to celebrate everything this place has been and everyone who helped make it what it is.

If we gotta go out, you know we're going out with a bang. Let's give this place the goodbye it deserves!

Farewell Fest: a series of shows dedicated to the people who helped make the Dome what it is.

More details about dates and lineup will be coming soon.

GENERAL BOOKING IS CLOSED

We want to prioritize the dates that we have left for the artists that we consider family. We have limited availability, but we don't want to leave anyone out. If you and your band consider the Dome home, reach out to our booking email. Please just be patient while we sort through this madness.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has supported us for so long and made this place feel like home.

We still have the rest of this year packed with shows to fill these walls with the music and people that have made the Dome what it is.

Let’s make the time we still have here count.

See you there!
