IIVA Heads To Washington for 2023 NIVA Conference

Members of the Indiana Independent Venue Alliance are heading to Washington, DC this weekend for the 2023 NIVA Conference. From July 9th to the 12th, independent music venues and influential figures from the music industry will come together for this annual gathering, promoting collaboration and celebrating the independence of live music.

NIVA '23 is widely recognized as the premier conference for independent music and comedy venues, festivals, and promoters. It serves as a platform to unite the live entertainment community, providing support, education, and networking opportunities for industry leaders across the United States.

This year's conference will tackle a range of important topics, including industry diversity, mental health, safety, insurance, the economic impact of live entertainment, booking, artist development, ticketing, and the role of live entertainment in policymaking. Keynote panels will feature prominent industry leaders, media professionals, recording artists, and NIVA members, fostering insightful discussions and thought-provoking conversations. Moreover, NIVA '23 offers members the chance to engage with NIVA's federal and national partners on Capitol Hill, within the Administration, and throughout the Capitol region.

These events will take place at various NIVA music and comedy venues across Washington, D.C., ensuring attendees can enjoy concerts and performances each evening of the conference.

On the final day of the NIVA conference, July 12th, NIVA has organized the first-ever in-person Congressional "Fly-In" for the live music industry on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. The primary objective of this Fly-In is to build upon the success of the Save Our Stages campaign and ensure that independent venues, festivals, and promoters remain active participants in federal policymaking.

We will share a detailed recap of our experience, complete with captivating photos, upon our return. Stay tuned for updates on our endeavors, including highlights from the annual Pickleball tournament.
