Sen. Mattie Daughtry To Speak at NIVA Live Policy Summit

Countdown to the NIVA Live Policy Summit in Indianapolis

We are just one week away from the NIVA Live Policy Summit in Indianapolis (October. 15 &16.) This gathering will bring together more than 150 leaders from across the live music industry, along with over 40 of our colleagues representing independent venues, promoters, and festivals nationwide. It’s a unique opportunity to connect, collaborate, and discuss the future of live music and independent stages.

If you’re planning to attend, don’t wait — there are only 30 spots remaining for registration.

Ticketing 101 Panel: New Voices Added

Today, NIVA announced that Maine State Senate President Mattie Daughtry (District 23) will join the Ticketing 101 panel. President Daughtry was the driving force behind a first-in-the-nation law to crack down on hidden ticket fees and protect fans from price gouging. The legislation established a cap on resale ticket prices, helping ensure that Mainers can afford to see their favorite artists live. Working closely with venues across the state, she showed what’s possible when fans, lawmakers, and independent stages come together.

She will be joined on the panel by Maryland State Senator Dawn Gile (District 33), with moderation by Audrey Fix Schaefer, Director of Communications at I.M.P. and President of the National Independent Venue Association Board.
