Featured Panelist: Maryland State Senator Dawn Gile Announced
As a champion for live entertainment and consumer protection, Maryland State Senator Dawn Gile led the passage of Senate Bill 539, the nation’s first comprehensive ticketing reform law. The bill bans the sale of speculative, or fake, tickets, holds resale platforms accountable under the Consumer Protection Act, requires transparent ticket pricing, codifies that a ticket is a license, and directs the Attorney General to review the state’s ticketing marketplace.
Her landmark legislation became the model for reform, inspiring policymakers across the country to advance similar bills that put fans, artists, and independent venues first. Register now for the NIVA Live Policy Summit taking place in Indianapolis on October 15th & 16th for more vital conversations about the future of live entertainment sector.
